🐋 $AIN 15-minute contract open interest increased by 2.83%; during the same period, the price rose by 0.32%.
To see most directly whether leveraged funds are entering or exiting, look at open interest—but you need to know how to interpret it.
Open interest is not the same as fund flows: an increase only means that the number of open positions in the contracts has grown. It doesn’t tell you whose money is involved or whether the positions are bullish or bearish.
Rising prices with falling open interest are often seen as being driven by short covering, while falling prices with declining open interest are often seen as longs exiting through stop-losses. These are rules of thumb, not conclusions.
Comparing several indicators is more reliable than looking at just one, but even more signals can’t provide a definitive conclusion.
