CZ’s urgent reminder to Apple users
Urgent security warning: Apple users, update your iOS immediately!
The situation is extremely serious. A new iOS vulnerability called “DarkSword” is being exploited on a large scale by hackers to steal cryptocurrency!
Key risks:
1. Hard to guard against: Reports say hackers can exploit this vulnerability with a simple Safari link. This means your assets could be gone just because you clicked the wrong webpage link.
2. Highly targeted: Screenshots show that nearly all major wallets, including Trust Wallet, MetaMask, Phantom, Coinbase, and Binance, are on the attack list.
3. Wide impact: Affected system versions range from iOS 13 all the way through iOS 18.6.2.
CZ’s advice:
“No wallet app can update your operating system. Self-custody means personal responsibility.”
Don’t assume your wallet app is safe. If the underlying operating system is compromised, even the safest wallet won’t help!
Take action now:
1. Open your phone’s settings and update iOS to the latest version immediately (especially on older devices that haven’t been updated in a long time).
2. Until you’ve installed the security update, absolutely do not click unfamiliar links (especially unknown links in Twitter DMs or Telegram groups).
3. Make sure to keep large amounts in a cold wallet (hardware wallet) and maintain physical isolation.$BNB $ZEC
