Crypto traders look at gold, silver, and oil

November 5, 2026 · Before the day session

In one line: Treat oil as a rebound play, wait for gold to pull back, and don’t chase silver higher. COMEX gold has retreated to around 4069: add only if it holds, and get out if it breaks down. Brent closed above 99.57; it only counts as a reversal if it clears 100.5. Buy back in on a pullback that holds above 94.5. Set your stop-loss orders first—don’t wait until the market turns against you to remember.

U.S. stocks got a cold shower from AI overnight: the Dow closed down 3.64%, the Nasdaq plunged 5.52%, and the S&P 500 fell 4.36%. The computing-power myth can unravel in an instant. Safe-haven money bypassed silver and hid in gold instead: COMEX gold surged to 4113 before sliding back to 4069, while silver fell to 51.8. Short-term trading has hit the brakes across the board.

Oil has its own story: the Middle East is still on fire, and Iran keeps adding fuel. Brent climbed back from 94.5 to 99.57, then ran into resistance at 100 this morning, with resistance at 100.5. T1 is 104, and T2 is 108. WTI has also moved above 91.4. The geopolitical premium hasn’t been fully priced in, but chasing highs is more nerve-racking than buying insurance—keep your stop-loss firmly in place.

Crypto is suffering the same fate: $BTC fell below 76,000, and $ETH lost 2240. No one dares claim the title of digital gold—the real thing, on the other hand, is attracting more buyers as it falls. In this round of safe-haven trading, physical gold is still the star; altcoins can only watch from the sidelines.

See you in the Shanghai market: Lightly test a long position in crude oil fund 501018 above 642, and exit if it breaks below 630. The geopolitical story isn’t over, but don’t catch a falling knife; if prices rise, you can ride along for a while. For gold and silver, wait patiently for a pullback and don’t chase highs. Scale in gradually—don’t go all in at once.
