Indicator Notes | $ELSA | 4-hour MACD | Bearish Crossover Above the Zero Line
Definition: MACD is calculated from moving averages, so it inherently lags: by the time a golden cross or death cross occurs, the price has usually already moved a little.
How to read it: A death cross above the zero line is often understood as a slowdown in upward momentum; it doesn’t necessarily mean a trend reversal. A death cross below the zero line is often seen as a continuation of the downtrend.
The same reading can mean very different things in different market conditions, so don’t blindly apply a rule of thumb.
