According to ChainCatcher citing Business Insider, Perplexity has launched Teammates, AI agents designed to take ongoing responsibility for specific work. CEO Aravind Srinivas said the company created about 10,000 Teammates in the past 30 days—20 times its human workforce.
Built on Perplexity Computer, the agents can track tasks, identify issues, use tools and coordinate with one another or human colleagues through Slack. The company says they now support work across marketing, sales, customer service and operations, expanding beyond software engineering tasks such as bug detection and system monitoring. Business Insider reported on an internal version of the tool in July this year.
Teammates is available as a research preview to subscribers on the $200-per-month Max plan. It launches on the web, with native mobile and desktop versions to follow.
