NU7 Zcash IS OFFICIALLY LIVE — block 3,543,405 was mined at 09:34 WIB today, and ZEC is holding the $1,310 area.

Facts: Unchained (Nov 6, 09:46 WIB) confirmed via Blockchair data that activation block 3,543,405 was mined at 21:34 ET on Thursday (09:34 WIB Friday). Fortune’s startup coverage also confirmed NU7 is live. What changed: the block target went from 75 seconds to 25 seconds, and the Network Sustainability Mechanism is now active — 60% of transaction fees are removed from circulation, then redistributed through block rewards starting at block 8,939,664 (around Feb 2031). About 12,224 ZEC (~$16 million) left in the old Sprout pool can no longer be spent.

My take: this is confirmation, not a surprise — the market has been counting down since yesterday, and ZEC at ~$1,314 (15-minute candle closed at 09:45 WIB) is holding the $1,310 area after briefly touching $1,333 this morning. What matters next is no longer the activation itself, but whether the network runs smoothly at a 25-second pace and whether this new fee mechanism actually makes a difference to transaction costs.

What I’m watching next: network stability post-activation, the price reaction around this morning’s $1,333 high, and tonight’s major event — US NFP at 20:30 WIB.

What do you think: is an upgrade like this enough to be a catalyst on its own, or will ZEC keep following BTC’s direction for now?
