The honeymoon after the midterms lasted less than a day. Bitcoin had just surged back to $80,800 on Wednesday, only to plunge through $76,000 on Thursday. It’s now around $76,200, down 5.5% on the day, after hitting an intraday low of $75,200—its lowest since September—wiping out all of Wednesday’s gains. The sell-off was driven by a double whammy: the Nasdaq fell nearly 5% in a single day as an AI-stock rout dragged down risk assets; meanwhile, House Democrats were reportedly drafting a new crypto market structure bill that would take regulatory power back from the CFTC and give the SEC, while also setting rules for federal officials’ crypto holdings. The goal is to pass it by 2027. The bill hasn’t even been released yet, but the market has already voted with its feet: the moderate version of the CLARITY Act is dead, and what replaces it could be stricter. ETFs had just seen $74.6 million in net inflows on Wednesday, ending a three-day outflow streak, only for that to be overshadowed by this sell-off. The mood in Washington has shifted, and the crypto sector will have to rethink its good times. #比特币 #USElection
