Vlad hosted another Robinhood Chain AMA today and gave pretty straightforward answers. I’ve put together the key takeaways and my thoughts for everyone:
A few things he emphasized:
1. Why build its own chain? Other ecosystems don’t meet its needs. The goal is to build the leading chain for both real-world assets and memes.
2. There’s plenty of room to grow. RWAs and crypto will truly converge, and the market could grow many times over.
3. Users ultimately care about the assets, not the chain. The best infrastructure is invisible—everyday users shouldn’t have to worry about which chain things run on.
4. Stock Tokens are just the starting point. More assets will be tokenized down the line; almost anything could go on-chain.
5. DeFi + Hooks + AI Agents. Stock tokens are the foundation, and Uniswap v4 hooks enable creativity. Agents can already interact directly with Stock Tokens, but security (formal verification) must come first.
6. The ecosystem is stepping up its support. Funding was announced yesterday, including around $1.8 million for Arbitrum, and more investment is on the way.
7. The most important thing for builders is to ship first. Culture draws users in; genuinely useful products keep them around.
My take:
The biggest signal from this AMA is that Robinhood isn’t pushing the “just another L2” narrative. It’s seriously working to bring stocks, crypto, and memes together.
They have real users, assets, and distribution channels—advantages most chains don’t have. The line “users care about the assets, not the chain” really hits the mark. If they can pull that off, Robinhood Chain’s ceiling is indeed higher than that of a purely crypto-native chain.
The narrative and direction make sense, and resources are being committed—but it’s not at the “proven and working” stage yet.
What did you think of this AMA?
Will Robinhood Chain become the go-to place for tokenized stocks, or just another chain that makes a splash before fading away? Let’s discuss in the comments, and follow each other so we can keep an eye on it.
