ZEC is rising on its own while BTC is flat—and there’s a timed reason: less than an hour to go.

The facts: Zcash’s NU7 upgrade activates at block 3,543,405. This morning, the ZecStats tracker (08:59 WIB) showed the chain at block 3,543,371—just 34 blocks away, with activation estimated around 09:30–09:45 WIB. Once it activates, the target block time drops from 75 seconds to 25 seconds, and version 4 transactions expire—leaving about 12,224 ZEC (~$16 million) still in the old Sprout pool unable to be moved. ZEC is around $1,308, up from about $1,248 last night, while BTC is still around $76,100.

My take: this is positioning, not proof. The market is buying into a countdown that’s been known for months—and what will really be tested is whether the network runs smoothly after the activation block, not whether the price rises beforehand. A pre-activation rally often turns out to be a moment to take profits.

What I’m watching: confirmation that block 3,543,405 is actually reached, how smoothly the first 25-second blocks go, and whether ZEC holds above $1,300 after activation—or reverses.

Do you think ZEC’s rise ahead of the upgrade is a sign of confidence, or a “buy the rumor” trap?

This is my analysis, not financial advice—always DYOR.
