Stablecoins have finally made it onto phones—not into exchanges. Samsung Wallet’s Stablecoin Account officially launched this week. Around 82 million compatible Galaxy devices in the US no longer need any crypto apps installed: users can buy, sell, hold, send and receive USDC on Solana right in their wallet, and withdraw it to bank accounts in more than 60 countries, where recipients receive local currency. Custody is handled by licensed provider Bastion, with Coinbase Prime Vault providing secondary custody. It’s available to people aged 18 and over using Android 13 or later; New York residents are temporarily excluded, and credit card deposits incur a 4% fee. The number of USDC accounts on Solana topped 10 million on October 31 and stood at around 10.07 million on November 4. See what’s happening?
