Came across Stacks’ announcement: Bitcoin staking Bond 3 has sold out again. This time, the list includes 21shares and Bullish ($BLSH), locking up BTC from its corporate treasury.
21shares manages over $6.5 billion in crypto ETPs. It participated in Genesis Bond and Bond 2—this is its third time. Bullish holds around 22,000 BTC, putting it among the top 10 publicly traded companies by BTC holdings. It’s the first to use Stacks to earn yield on its BTC, with the assets still held in qualified custody at BitGo and the BTC remaining on Bitcoin’s Layer 1.
The mechanism is pretty straightforward: BTC is time-locked on L1, paired with a certain amount of $STX , and locked for six months. The target annualized yield is around 3%, paid weekly in BTC, with no slashing. According to the official figures, publicly listed companies hold over 1.3 million BTC in their treasuries, with most of it just sitting on their balance sheets. Bond 4 is expected to open around December 3.
