About $1.018 billion in liquidations across the market over the past 24 hours, with longs accounting for about $913 million—nearly 90%; BTC’s daily low of ≈$75,200 remains about 4.8% below the MA20—I'm not catching this falling knife

What I’m seeing:
ChainCatcher, citing Coinglass (around 00:02 this morning): approximately $1.018 billion in liquidations across the market over the past 24 hours, including about $913 million in longs and $106 million in shorts. BTC liquidations were about $254 million and ETH about $160 million. PANews reported on the same day that roughly $873 million was wiped out over the past four hours, with longs accounting for about 90%. Yesterday afternoon, price had just squeezed shorts back above ≈$80,400, then reversed overnight. It’s now around $76,200, with a daily low of ≈$75,200, still about 4.8% below the daily MA20 at ≈$80,000.

My take:
Yesterday, shorts bore the brunt; today, longs are taking the hit. Without spot buyers to support the short-squeeze rebound, price has fallen right back where it started. Don’t mistake a short squeeze for confirmation of a bottom.

Watching, not chasing: I’d wait for price to hold above $78,000 and reclaim the MA20 at ≈$80,000 before drawing conclusions. If it loses the 24-hour low of ≈$75,200, I’d consider this rebound a complete failure.

Do you think this is a bottom after the longs have been flushed out, or will pressure from U.S. stocks trigger another sell-off?
