【Outlook】After looking at CPI, why should we also keep an eye on PPI?
The schedule updated by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics on November 3 shows that October PPI is scheduled to be released at 9:30 p.m. Beijing time on November 13. This is only the schedule; the actual figures have not yet been released. PPI tracks prices at the production level, while CPI offers a different perspective by looking at prices paid by consumers.
My view is that, when it comes to interest rate expectations that matter to crypto markets, an individual price report is better treated as one piece of the puzzle—not as a switch that determines market direction. If signals from the production and consumer sides differ, first check the component details and the scope of the statistics, then discuss whether inflationary pressure is persistent. We also cannot use this alone to claim what direction BTC will move in.
Next, watch to see whether the official release schedule changes and whether the actual data aligns with the previous trend. When you read macroeconomic data, are you more likely to overlook the statistical methodology or the release time?
