Quick reference card: perpetual and delivery contracts
Perpetual contracts settle funding fees at regular intervals. The cost of holding one long term depends on the total funding rate over the holding period.
Binance delivery contracts are set up quarterly. There are usually two, called “current quarter” and “next quarter,” referring to their expiration quarters.
If you hold a delivery contract, keep an eye on its expiration date. As it approaches, decide in advance whether to close your position or roll it over to the next contract.
