What’s the difference between U-margined and coin-margined contracts?
Coin-margined contracts are traded in contracts, each representing a specific USD value. U-margined contracts are usually placed by specifying the number of coins.
When you use BTC as collateral to open a long position in a coin-margined contract, the collateral itself also fluctuates with the coin’s price: if the price falls, the contract incurs a loss and the USD value of your collateral shrinks as well.
For example, $BTC : BTCUSDT calculates profit and loss in USDT, while the coin-margined BTCUSD contract calculates it in BTC.
Leverage amplifies profits and losses, not the accuracy of your judgment. The higher the leverage, the less room for error.
