People who were celebrating the post-midterm-election rally yesterday were hit with a bucket of cold water today. BTC plunged from a high of $81,105 to $75,468, down more than 5% in 24 hours, and is now trading around $76,200. More than $1 billion in positions were liquidated across the market over the past 24 hours, mostly longs—the largest amount since October 28. The trigger came from U.S. stocks: Qualcomm's disappointing earnings sent its shares down 10% before the open, the semiconductor index plunged more than 10%, and the Nasdaq tumbled nearly 6%, marking its worst day since the tariff turmoil in April 2025. Crypto mining stocks fell 15% to 20%; Coinbase, Circle, and BitGo dropped 10% to 15%; and Strategy fell 9.6%. ETH, SOL, and XRP fell 6% to 7% in a single day. The midterm elections had just pushed the broader market above $80,000, but as the AI narrative wobbled, leveraged positions were liquidated one after another. #BTC #U.S.Stocks
