Bitget has increased the maximum leverage to 1:2000 for 21 forex CFD instruments, including EURUSD, USDJPY, GBPUSD, and AUDUSD. The change takes effect on November 1, 2026, and introduces a tiered margin structure in which margin requirements vary according to position size, reducing traders’ initial capital burden.

The adjustment applies to major and cross-currency pairs involving the euro, British pound, US dollar, Japanese yen, Australian dollar, Canadian dollar, and Swiss franc. The higher leverage limits allow traders to manage their capital more flexibly in response to events such as interest rate decisions, economic data releases, and increased market volatility.

Under the updated margin structure, a 0.05% margin rate applies to the first 50,000 USDT of nominal position size, equivalent to maximum leverage of 1:2000. As position size increases, higher margin rates apply to successive tiers, but each rate is calculated only on the portion of the position within that tier. This structure offers high leverage for smaller positions while gradually increasing margin requirements for larger positions to adjust for risk. During periods of heightened volatility, such as major economic data releases, the leverage available may be temporarily reduced.

Gracy Chen, CEO of Bitget, said, “Forex traders build their positions around interest rate decisions and economic indicators, and margin tied up in a single trade can limit the execution of the rest of their strategy. By expanding leverage options and introducing tiered margin, we’re giving traders much greater flexibility in how they allocate capital. This flexibility is especially important in a universal exchange environment where users can trade gold, forex, indices, and crypto all in one place.”

This move further expands the dynamic leverage and tiered margin framework Bitget already operates for CFD trading. Alongside recently introduced features such as CFD subaccounts, open APIs, and demo accounts, it broadens the ecosystem of tools available to traders. As a universal exchange spanning traditional finance and digital assets, Bitget is strengthening its offering to give users access to forex, commodities, stock indices, and crypto within a single infrastructure.
