The TON network announced the launch of Acton, a modern toolkit for smart contract development that covers the entire development lifecycle, from project creation to testing, debugging, deployment, and verification. $TON

The core idea is that developers no longer need a collection of separate tools, but a cohesive environment built around the Tolk language that lets them create, build, test, configure, deploy, and verify all in one place.

The tool is command-line-first, making it convenient for both developers and AI agents, with support for editors like VS Code, JetBrains, Cursor, and Zed via the LSP protocol.

The package also includes built-in security tools such as coverage measurement, fuzz testing, mutation testing, and gas usage analysis, along with a native debugger that lets you step through instructions and inspect variables and the call stack.

What matters here is that writing in Tolk and testing in one environment could shorten the time between finding and fixing a bug. But that still depends on how much developers actually adopt the new tools, which remains to be seen.

Bottom line: good development tools alone don’t make successful projects, but they lower the barrier to entry for anyone who wants to build on TON.
