More and more public-chain teams feel that new public chains have no future—mainly because nobody uses them.
They can only keep going for a few more days by relying on Ethereum.
Ethereum is almost done for too.
It’s become an ATM for hackers.
Zilliqa announced that nine years of independently operating a Layer 1 have not delivered the expected results: usage, funding, and liquidity are all insufficient, while recent security incidents have highlighted the high cost of maintaining an independent chain.
The team has decided to change direction. Zilliqa will transition into Zilliqa Institutional Layer ($ZIL
), an Ethereum Layer 2 for regulated institutions. The $ZIL token will remain, and holders do not need to take any action for now. Technical details will be announced in advance. Any token swaps or migrations will be carried out only as specified in official announcements.
