Study Notes | Cross-Chain Bridges
① A common cross-chain method is “lock and mint”: assets are locked by a bridge on the source chain, and an equivalent amount of wrapped assets is minted on the target chain.
② Another type of cross-chain solution relies on liquidity pools on both chains to swap assets. It does not issue wrapped assets; instead, you receive native tokens on the target chain.
③ For large cross-chain transfers, it’s best to try a small amount first and transfer the rest only after confirming it has arrived.
