Samsung Wallet brings USDC to a regular phone wallet. Eligible U.S. Galaxy users can now buy, hold, send, and receive USDC on Solana through Samsung Wallet, without a separate crypto app or self-managed private keys, across about 82 million compatible devices (Decrypt, November 5). The service is hosted by Bastion, with Coinbase Prime Vault as sub-custodian.

Samsung says it charges no fees of its own for transfers within the wallet, and users can withdraw to eligible bank accounts in more than 60 countries; credit card top-ups incur a 4% fee, the service is unavailable to New York users, and users must be at least 18 and have Android 13. Samsung emphasizes that it is a crypto wallet, not a bank account, and says it will explore online and in-person stablecoin payments in the future.

Personal view: This expands the distribution channels for stablecoins, but the impact depends on actual transaction volume. Binance snapshot at 21:04 on November 5: SOL $95.50 (+3.076%), 24-hour range $92.55–$98.14. If the 4-hour candle closes above 96.50 and a retest holds above 95.00, consider a long, targeting 98.14 and 100, with a stop-loss at 94. If it breaks below 94.90 and fails to reclaim it on a rebound, watch 93 and 90.87, with a stop-loss at 96.80.

If the service remains limited to the U.S. and payment features have not launched, it will be difficult for the narrative to drive sustained growth in volume. Would you use stablecoins in your mobile wallet?
