Malacca police arrested 13 foreign suspects in a raid, seizing 26 mobile phones and 12 laptops.

Police raided a residence in Kota Shahbandar yesterday, saying the group was involved in pig-butchering scams and a fake cryptocurrency trading platform. They allegedly used Telegram, QQ and Soul to lure Chinese victims into transferring money to supposed high-return crypto investments.

· Central District Police Chief Halim Abas said the members entered from the Philippines, Taiwan, Laos, China and elsewhere on tourist visas between February and September last year, and began operating about three months ago.
· The seized equipment is estimated to be worth about RM50,000. The suspects have been remanded until November 8, while the victims’ total losses are still being verified.
