6 confirmations take about 6 minutes on $DOGE , about 60 minutes on $BTC , and about 15 minutes for Litecoin in between. The difference isn’t the number of confirmations, but the block interval: 1 minute, 2.5 minutes, 10 minutes.

The number of confirmations is the number of blocks stacked on top, not a measure of time. So “wait for 6 confirmations” can mean anything from 6 minutes to an hour, depending on the chain; a platform might say “credited after 3 confirmations”—same number, different clock.

One level deeper: confirmations are probabilistic. The deeper the stack of blocks, the more costly it is to reverse, but it isn’t itself a final settlement receipt. $DOGE produces one block per minute, so more blocks are produced in the same amount of time: the wait is shorter, and there are more blocks.

Looking at these three numbers, I can only conclude this: when discussing confirmation counts, it’s best to include the block interval too. DYOR. #Dogecoin #Crypto
