How to trade short-term futures today: let’s talk about the framework

Whether to take this trade—the funding rate is more honest than the candlestick chart.

Futures only care about three sets of numbers. Everything else is noise.

1. BTC 80310, 24h 78002-81196, change +2.25%.
2. BTC open interest notional: 7.71 billion USD, 24h -0.54%
3. Account-wide long/short ratio: 1.41

My take: The funding rate at 0.0100% is close to zero, and the long/short ratio is 1.41. Leverage hasn’t picked a side. If it hasn’t picked a side, don’t use high leverage to pick one for it.

Execution ranges (based on current price ± structure, not an old chart):
- Breakout zone: Only consider chasing if price holds above 80,952; otherwise, it’s a false breakout
- Buy the pullback: 79,346-79,828; don’t buy if it breaks below this range
- No-trade zone: If the 1h candle closes below 78,864, skip this trade

My position: I only buy pullbacks; I don’t chase breakouts. If the structure holds, I can keep a core position; adding requires waiting for the pullback zone.

Data: Binance spot 24h / Binance USDⓈ-M / Yahoo daily (5-day change) / altme_fng / mempool_fees / defillama_chains / coingecko_trending. Missing numbers won’t be filled in.
If memes aren’t outperforming BTC, are you still holding them?

Useful info: The dot plot shows each official’s individual projection; it is not the next meeting’s decision.
Takeaway: ETH is weaker than BTC: capital is contracting, so pause right-side altcoin entries for now.
