Analyst: U.S. midterm election results seen as positive for bonds and stocks
According to Jinse Finance, on Nov. 5, Joanne Bianco, senior investment strategist at BondBloxx Investment Management, said investors view the U.S. midterm election results as supportive of bond and stock markets, as the results raise the bar for further fiscal spending and increase the likelihood of greater policy checks and balances. She noted that although it is now difficult to find anyone in Washington who genuinely advocates fiscal austerity, a more divided policy environment should make it harder to further expand the fiscal deficit and could improve the fiscal outlook. In a report, Bianco said that going forward, the market’s focus will shift back to geopolitical developments and whether the U.S. economy can remain resilient. (Jinshi)
