According to ChainCatcher citing CoinDesk, the XRP Ledger activated the fixCleanup3_4_0 amendment at 10:52 PM (UTC+8) on November 4, closing a vulnerability that could let accounts authorized only to destroy an issuer’s tokens create new ones under certain conditions. The issue affected the network’s permissioned delegation system, including assets issued on the XRP Ledger such as stablecoins, but not XRP itself. No publicly confirmed exploitation cases have been reported.

The amendment also includes accounting changes for the planned lending system and Single Asset Vaults, along with fixes related to automated market maker token recovery, permissioned trading and transaction signing. Activation followed two consecutive weeks of validator support after an attempt in October was disrupted by an interruption in support.
