【Flash】View: Semiconductor bagholders may cap a rebound; bullish on Chinese tech stocks and crypto

ChainCatcher reports that trader degentrading (@degentradingLSD) published a pre-market analysis. On semiconductors, he believes the sector has a large number of underwater long positions. Unless there is a painful liquidation event that triggers a V-shaped rebound, any recovery will be capped by selling from investors looking to break even. Another possible path is corporate buybacks, and MU is the only company with the capacity to carry them out before the CHIPS Act-related restrictions expire on December 9. Citing Citrini, he said AI capital expenditure growth has peaked, but spending itself will not stop—its growth will simply slow. Personally, he believes that when growth is priced at zero, any upside surprise will provide fresh momentum, so he sees opportunities to go long. He also acknowledges that share prices may not have bottomed at current levels and could continue to fall. On AI computing capacity, he noted that cloud giants rose about 10% in the previous trading session while semiconductor stocks fell about 10%. The market largely attributed this to the possibility that new data center construction in the U.S. could be blocked, increasing the value of chips already in use.
