At 13:05 Hong Kong time, 1,033 blocks remain until NU7 activation for $ZEC . The spending window for funds in the old Sprout pool is narrowing. Will transfers still work across the upgrade?
Keeping ZEC exposure can be considered separately from moving funds out of the old pool.
The current block height is 3,542,372; NU7 activates at height 3,543,405, not at a specific time on the calendar.
After activation, v4 transactions will become invalid, while Sprout funds can only be spent via v4. This means balances left in that pool will then be unspendable. They are not destroyed, but there is no guarantee they will become recoverable in the future. This does not mean all ZEC will be frozen; other wallets will still need to support the new rules.
For holders with funds in old wallets, checking pool balances, wallet compatibility, and on-chain confirmation status is more direct than watching price movements. Moving funds out of the old pool lets you retain exposure to ZEC's price, but comes with operational and fee costs. Leaving funds in the old pool means accepting the risk that they will become unspendable after activation. If a transfer is not confirmed before activation, the usability risk remains. Withdrawal arrangements for exchange balances should be checked against platform announcements; you cannot infer that a platform has enabled withdrawals from network-wide rules.
