$SOL Bullish: Coinbase Prime opens options and perpetuals to U.S. institutions, with SOL among the first 20+ assets
Coinbase announced on November 4 that eligible U.S. institutional clients can now trade global options, dated futures, and perpetual contracts through Coinbase Prime. Liquidity is provided by Deribit, with trades handled by CFTC-registered Coinbase Financial Markets.
The initial offering covers more than 20 assets, including BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP, AVAX, and HYPE. BTC, ETH, and USDC can be used as collateral.
SOL is currently trading at $96.04, up about 4.0% over the past 24 hours, with roughly $1.92 billion in trading volume and an intraday range of about $92.06 to $98.16.
Previously, institutions had to rely on offshore entities to access this kind of market depth. Now they can place orders through the same Prime account, with SOL among the first assets to enter this regulated channel.
