$ETH spread trading—I turned it into an open-source bot 👀

During Binance’s withdrawal suspension on 10/29, ETH on Uniswap briefly traded well above the price quoted by Aave’s oracle. 0xNaiXi estimated that one address made around $3.47 million by borrowing ETH, selling it at a higher price on a DEX, then buying it back after the price fell.

I’ve open-sourced aave-oracle-lag-arb, which tracks price spreads, opens and closes positions, automatically reduces leverage, and sends notifications. It can monitor Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base, and Optimism at the same time. The demo in the repo is a local fork simulation; both the events and the profits are simulated.

A word on the risks: this is essentially a leveraged ETH short. If ETH keeps rising, you could be liquidated. Aave could also freeze the market, and the program has not undergone a security audit. Use it at your own risk.

If an exchange suspends withdrawals again, would you want to try running it?
