This morning, Trump Media transferred 4,259 bitcoins in a single transaction, worth about $344 million at the time, to a centralized trading platform. On-chain monitoring tools show that the company’s related addresses had been dormant for three months before the transfer.
The year-to-date total is worth a closer look. So far in 2026, the company has transferred about 9,540 bitcoins to the same platform, worth approximately $714 million. On the same trading day, another publicly listed mining company was also observed transferring 1,650 bitcoins within 12 hours, worth about $133 million.
Bitcoin is currently priced at $80,420, up 4.7% over 24 hours. Prices are moving higher, and large transfers are happening at the same time.
There’s a step between transferring coins to a platform and actually selling them. After the company’s previous transfers, changes in its holdings were only confirmed in the holdings section of its next financial report. For now, this on-chain record tells us just one thing: the coins on its books have changed locations. Whether they were actually sold remains to be seen in the quarterly report.
