ByteDance’s Coze Enterprise Edition to be phased out, with service ending by the end of 2027 at the latest
On November 5, Bianews reported that Coze, ByteDance’s AI agent development platform, announced the phased discontinuation of its currently available Enterprise Edition. Starting November 30, the Enterprise Standard and Flagship plans will no longer be available to new customers. The old plans on Volcano Engine will be discontinued on December 31 this year, and the new Enterprise plans are scheduled to be fully discontinued on December 31, 2027. Existing enterprise customers can still renew their subscriptions and purchase additional seats, but their service periods must not extend beyond the discontinuation date of the relevant product. According to the arrangements announced so far, the changes apply to the enterprise plans and do not mean that Coze as a whole will immediately cease operations. On August 24 this year, ByteDance brought the TRAE and Coze teams under the Doubao organization. The following day, it launched “Doubao Work,” an agent product brand aimed at productivity use cases. According to IDC’s “2025 China AI Agent Development Platform Market Share Report,” released in June this year, Volcano Engine (Coze) ranked first in China’s public cloud AI agent development platform market in 2025, with a 19.3% revenue share. Baidu AI Cloud and Tencent Cloud ranked second and third, with 13.9% and 12.6%, respectively. Tencent’s AI agent platform Yuanqi updated its service discontinuation notice on October 8, announcing that it would cease all services starting November 9, 2026.
