Fractal’s first halving has burned a total of 4,275,161 FB.
About 2.196 million of those came from the remaining early Index Mining rewards, 579,000 came from public test rewards, and 1.5 million came from the second-year ecosystem treasury. The records can all be found on-chain.
When people see tokens being burned, retail investors can easily think the price should rise. But FB is currently only around $0.31, down about 9% in 24 hours, down 15.5% over the past 7 days, and down 22.4% over the past 30 days. BTC has still been rebounding during the same period, which suggests FB’s own buying support is relatively weak.
This burn did not involve secondary-market buybacks; it mainly dealt with allocations that had not yet been distributed. It reduced future supply, but did not bring in new buying capital.
The burn amount is about 2% of the maximum supply. After the halving, 25 FB will still be produced every 30 seconds, or about 72,000 per day and about 26.28 million per year, which is roughly six times this burn amount.
According to official data, about 109.6 million FB are currently in circulation, while 45.7% remain uncirculated. Index Mining has staked about 12.6 million FB, locking up part of the circulating supply, and staking rewards will also create new selling pressure.
The direction of this burn is not the problem, and it does reduce supply pressure somewhat. For the price to move up, Fractal still needs to bring in more users, trading, and capital to absorb the daily newly issued FB.
