Visa is establishing six global capability centers in Singapore, with more than 1,500 professionals. Announced on November 5, the centers will be based at a new solutions center in Paya Lebar Oasis, focusing on applied AI and agentic commerce, digital currencies, stablecoins, programmable payments, wallets, alternative payment methods, cybersecurity, and quantum computing.
· The backdrop: Visa has already launched USDC settlement in the U.S. and says stablecoins can support faster cross-border payments and programmable money.
· Its partners are DBS, Nium, and StraitsX. The Singapore Economic Development Board says the investment will create high-value jobs.
If stablecoin settlement expands from the U.S. to Singapore, which partner’s rollout would you most like to see first?
$USDC
