One gold token corresponds to one standard 400-ounce gold bar.

Hong Kong Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury Christopher Hui said at Hong Kong FinTech Week that Hong Kong will soon launch an interbank tokenized gold trading project, to be advanced under the Hong Kong Monetary Authority’s Ensemble project. The project is expected to use the Hong Kong gold reference price, HAU, as its pricing benchmark and introduce new arrangements for tokenized deposits. According to the 21st Century Business Herald, HKEX also plans to build a blockchain-enabled multi-asset tokenization platform that will allow pilot trading of tokenized carbon credits. In 2027, it plans to include in the pilot warehouse receipts backed by goods stored in Hong Kong at warehouses approved by the London Metal Exchange.

· The peg is the most concrete parameter in this mechanism: one token for one 400-ounce gold bar, priced against HAU rather than a freely floating price.
· Interbank trading, tokenized deposits, and the multi-asset platform are all still at the planning or proposed stage. The only implementation timeline specified is 2027 for the warehouse receipt pilot.

With gold tokens pegged to full gold bars, are you more concerned about the redemption threshold or deviations in pricing from HAU?
