Guys, the broader market is all green, but TRUMP coin is down 16% and hitting a new low.
And I’m siding with the bears. The market is up while it’s down—that’s not a pullback; the narrative has had its plug pulled.

First, the numbers.
TRUMP coin is at 1.255 now, down 16.3% over 24 hours. The high was 1.537 and the low was 1.215.

That 1.215 isn’t just an ordinary low. It was a new all-time low set by the hourly candle at 1 a.m. today, with 50 million tokens traded in a single hour. Panic selling was real.
Futures trading volume over 24 hours was $320 million, with a weighted average price of 1.352. The current price is already below that average. The funding rate is -0.033%—shorts haven’t been squeezed, and the rate isn’t hot enough to tell a short-squeeze story.

So what did the broader market look like that same day?
BTC was at 80,532, up 5.2%; ETH was at 2,428, up 7.8%. The whole market was rising, while political coins were the only ones making new lows.
The related tokens weren’t doing much better: WLFI was at 0.0473, down 3.2%; MELANIA was at 0.0634, down 10.1%.

The entire political Meme sector lost over 16% of its market cap in one day, leaving just $477 million. Trading volume, meanwhile, jumped 123% to $437 million. That’s panic volume, not dip-buying volume.

What do the bulls say?
To be fair, after hitting a new low overnight, the price recovered above 1.25. There were buyers below that 1 a.m. wick—it wasn’t a free fall.
WLFI is down just 3.2%, holding up much better than TRUMP. That suggests the market can tell the difference: it’s the policy premium on the president’s personal coin that’s being dumped, not the entire Trump ecosystem.

Besides, Trump is still president. Executive orders and regulatory appointments are still in his hands. A change in Congress doesn’t mean crypto policy goes straight to zero, and political coins have always been quicker to change direction than a page can turn.

What do the bears say?
But the logic behind this drop is stronger than the case for a rebound. A Democratic sweep of both chambers is a media projection; there’s no official certification yet, but the market is already trading as if it happened.
Once the House changes hands, the oversight and investigation process gets underway. They’ve specifically called for an investigation into the family’s crypto business, and the CLARITY market structure bill was already stuck needing 60 votes in the Senate. Now it’ll be even harder to get them.

The most painful part is where the price is now. From its January 2025 high of $73.43, it’s down 98.3%. It’s down 27% in seven days and 38% in 30 days. Making new lows all the way down is a trend, not a one-day event.
Even Trump Media Group’s DJT hit a new low at the open yesterday, closing at $5.23. The whole family’s in sync.

Here’s what I think.
I’m siding with the bears for one reason: even with the broader market giving it a step up, it won’t take it.
When BTC is up 5% and you’re making new lows, the broader market isn’t dragging you down—your own narrative is losing steam. Policy expectations are built on talk when they arrive, and when they leave, they don’t even say goodbye.

There’ll definitely be an oversold bounce. Someone will always bet on a rebound below a needle-like wick such as 1.215. But a bounce and a reversal are two different things. Until it gets back above 1.30, I’ll treat it as just another pause in the downtrend.

What am I planning to do?
To put it plainly, I just opened a small short on this one. If it gets back above 1.30, I’ll close it. If it breaks below 1.215, I’ll keep holding and see if it makes another new low.
It’s not about my views on politics. The price is telling the story: the broader market is up, this is making new lows, and the funding rate isn’t overheated. I have no reason to buy into that setup.

Pick one and tell me:
Does it get back above 1.30 and catch its breath, or break below 1.215 and make another new low? I’m betting on the latter. What about you?
