78 hours, 1,083 accounts, 11,700 posts—the second battle Binance faces isn’t on-chain.

On November 4, CZ reposted a long post with statistics: over roughly 78 hours, from October 30 to November 2, 1,083 accounts published 11,700 hostile posts, generating about 20.93 million impressions. The post classified 3,354 of them as disinformation, divided into 15 rumor categories. The narrative shifted with each of Binance’s responses: an insider, insolvency, the next FTX, fear of withdrawals, a bank run as soon as withdrawals opened.

He Yi responded: “Stoking the flames will only drive everyone away.”

Money on-chain can be frozen and tracked; words off-chain can’t be silenced. In future, half of an exchange’s battles will be fought over wallets, and the other half over who can tell a convincing story first. But these figures come from one-sided statistics in a post reposted by CZ, not an independent audit. Whether there was coordination is the post’s assessment, not a settled conclusion.

Next time you see a “get out now” post, will you check the source first—or hit withdraw?
