🚨 Security Reminder | BIP-54 testing begins on the Bitcoin Inquisition Signet network in February 2026

Odaily Planet Daily reports: Bitcoin’s next major protocol upgrade may be a soft fork called “Great Consensus Cleanup” (BIP-54), designed to fix four vulnerabilities in the network’s consensus rules: time-warp attacks, “poison” blocks that take a long time to validate, a 64-byte transaction vulnerability in Merkle trees, and replay risks caused by duplicate coinbase transactions. The proposal was first drafted by developer Matt Corallo in March 2019, officially received a BIP number in April 2025, and its test vectors were merged in late 2025. Testing began on the Bitcoin Inquisition Signet network in February 2026.
