Reflections from someone who’s only been at this for a month

I’ve been navigating the crypto world for just over a month. Between charts, new terms, daily missions, and learning to take my first steps, there’s one question I’ve asked myself almost every day: What the hell am I doing here?

And that feeling of uncertainty hits even harder right now. With the markets seemingly in free fall after the latest hack that shook everyone, it’s easy to panic and wonder if you’ve ended up in the wrong place. But maybe today’s chaos is the perfect excuse to stop and think about the real reason we took the leap.

When I started asking myself that question, I considered several possibilities:

Did I get in because a friend told me I’d get rich overnight here?

Or because I saw a flashy ad in an app promising insane returns?

Let’s be honest: at first, the dream of easy money is the magnet that draws us all in. But if that’s all you’re here for, the market will knock you around in no time.

What’s your real goal?

That’s why you need to look beyond that. Why did you really get in?

Maybe you got in hoping to see a certain number on the screen, treat yourself to something you wanted, secure a good education for your children in the future, or simply take the leap and travel somewhere. Or maybe, let’s be honest, we all initially fantasize about becoming the next trading sensation or finding that coin worth pennies today but thousands in five years, remembering that Bitcoin and BNB themselves once cost next to nothing.

That drive, that inner fuel, is what Napoleon Hill calls a burning desire in Think and Grow Rich. And that concept isn’t just a pretty phrase from a book: that burning desire is your goal itself, the exact reason you’re enduring the stress of watching red candles today.

A burning desire needs direction

Now, a burning desire needs to go hand in hand with something fundamental: discipline.

I’ve learned this month that having a clear goal is vital, but a burning desire alone won’t save you from a bad move. You can have all the motivation in the world, but if you open trades at random, without thinking or exercising control, the market will steamroll you.

People say that “knowledge is power.” But in this short time, I’ve realized an uncomfortable truth: knowledge is power only when you know what you want and where you want to go.

There’s no point in knowing what staking is, reading a hundred technical analysis threads, or understanding networks if you don’t have a clear direction. Knowledge without a defined goal is like having an airplane engine on a bicycle: you’ll move very fast, but you’ll probably crash into the first wall.

Define your destination. Be clear about what brought you to this screen today, amid the market storm. Gain knowledge, be disciplined, and use all of that as the vehicle to get exactly where you set out to go.

Why did you really join Binance, and what goal is driving you day after day?

If you want to, share it—or don’t—but I’m asking you to do one thing: repeat it every morning when you wake up, and every night before you go to sleep.

Do it because the human mind needs to constantly remind itself of its own true north; otherwise, the daily noise, fear of a market downturn, or temptation of easy money will eventually lead you off course. Having your goal etched in your mind at the start and end of each day is the true anchor that keeps your discipline intact when everything else is wavering.
