Apple has reduced the daily spending limit for some engineers using AI models from $300 to $200 and plans to lower it further for some engineering teams.

According to Bloomberg, citing people familiar with the matter, the change was made last month. Apple plans to reduce the limit for some engineering teams to $100 per day.

Many teams outside engineering already have a limit of $100 per day, while some teams could see theirs reduced to $25. Employees who need to spend more can ask senior management to approve an exception.

Apple employees may use AI services such as Anthropic's Claude, OpenAI's ChatGPT, and Google's Gemini. According to reports, Microsoft, Tesla, and Meta are also tightening internal AI spending. Apple declined to comment.
