【Like Bitcoin weathering the collapse of an exchange in 2015】
The hardest part that year wasn’t the price drop. It was the exchange going under and trust being shattered. The recovery didn’t come from “digital gold”; it came from trading and settlement getting back up and running. That’s what I’m watching with UNI, too.
UNI is currently at $7.65, up 5.1% in 24 hours and 8.1% over 7 days, but still down 14.6% over 30 days. The Fear Index is only 34, yet the price has stabilized. That divergence is worth watching more closely.
I haven’t figured this out yet: is this capital rushing in to catch a rebound, or is the protocol’s value flowing through to its business? A push toward $7.93 could meet resistance; holding above $6.81 would leave room to run. Unusually high volume could mean a big move is near, but a big move doesn’t necessarily signal a major trend.
In practical terms, this affects DEX users, holders, market makers, and the protocol itself. Only when the front end ties swaps, liquidity, and governance into a closed loop does value stay in the ecosystem. The thesis has to answer three questions: Why do users come? Who pays the fees? How does revenue flow back to the token? What’s missing right now is repeatable usage data.
I’ve worked on plenty of products, and I wouldn’t mistake rising volume for a reversal. UNI still faces a key question: there’s a gap between lively trading and value captured by the token, and product design has to bridge it. I haven’t fully worked this out yet; I’d simply call it “a recovery worth watching.”
What matters more to you in this rebound: the trading volume, or products in the UNI ecosystem that can generate sustained revenue?
