📵 Vitalik Buterin lived 100 days with his phone in airplane mode. And he liked it
The Ethereum ($ETH ) co-founder told how he reduces digital tracking and "sticks" less on the Internet:
▫️ He turned off his mobile connection, left Wi-Fi on. This way the operator receives less data about his movements, and without constant Internet it is easier to get distracted from the phone. After the experiment, airplane mode remained the default setting.
▫️ He enters X through Firefly. You can publish posts and read others, but there is no familiar recommendation feed. According to Vitalik, he feels better without it.
▫️ He moved some of his crypto operations from websites to the command line. For example, he updates ENS data using a tool that AI wrote for him. The reason is simple: even a real site can issue malicious code if its server is hacked.
And searching for Wi-Fi turned out to be especially convenient in Ukraine. Buterin noted a multitude of open points in various cities — and put the country above Switzerland in his personal ranking 🫶
