I was reading my friend Alexey Fedorov’s blog the other day. He recently did a sponsored post with Ksenia Sobchak.
Lyosha owns one of my favorite Russian brands, Magssory. We first met about eight years ago, I think, when he was one of my clients. Now we’re both members of the same private club for entrepreneurs and investors.
I liked the idea that what’s the point of being in business if you don’t aim to build a global company and go public? To build a global brand that will last for decades. And where should you build such a company—in the US, Singapore, Hong Kong, or maybe the UAE?
My friend Roman Khoroshev has already successfully taken a company public and completed a solid pre-IPO round with JetLend. Before 2022, there would certainly have been good demand for it on the local market… My acquaintance Semyon Tenyaev had also been thinking about taking TenChat public.
After all, the truth is that all the limitations in business exist only in our minds. I recently read Brianna Wiest’s book The Mountain Is You. One line stood out to me: “Nothing holds you back in life more than you do.”
The right, supportive people around you and good ideas can help you reach your goal several times faster. After all, the main purpose of science, technology, and any business is for a company to outlive its founder and bring value to its users’ everyday lives -_-
