98% of Stolen Assets Recovered; New Expanded PoR Update
Dear Binancers,
As promised, Binance will cover the cost of the funds stolen in the recent security incident—not our users. We have already reserved more than 100% of the funds needed to cover these losses using Binance's own resources. And now we have made further progress. We have recovered approximately 98% of the affected amount and are continuing to buy the remaining tokens through market and OTC channels. Purchases of the remaining 2% may take longer, as these tokens have lower liquidity. We will continue to provide updates.
We also took a new snapshot of the Proof of Reserves (PoR) on November 4, 2026, at 00:00 (UTC). It now covers 44 tokens, instead of the 10 in the previous snapshot, and is available on our PoR website.
This snapshot provides an updated view of the assets that are fully accounted for, reflecting our ongoing commitment to transparency. Generating the full zero-knowledge proof is expected to take approximately 50 to 60 hours due to the computational workload. Once the proof has been generated, users who hold any of the covered tokens will be able to independently verify that their balances are backed at least 1:1.
We continue to acquire the remaining assets, reopen withdrawals in phases, and strengthen our safeguards. We will share updates as progress continues.
Thank you for your support!
