According to ChainCatcher, Sequoia Capital outlined a series of changes in an essay titled “The Sequoia of Tomorrow,” published on X one year after its generational transition. The firm said it will focus on high-conviction, highly selective venture investing, simplify its fund structure, discontinue the Arc batch accelerator and Scouts programs, and streamline its operations and investment teams. Sequoia is merging its early- and growth-stage teams into one and will close its London office, with some employees departing; it will support European founders from its San Francisco Bay Area headquarters. The firm has also flattened its partnership structure and ended its weekly Monday partner meetings. It said it has raised about $10 billion in new funds. Sequoia is currently owned and operated by seven general partners and is focused on areas including AI, space, biotechnology, and reindustrialization.
