After selling $11.45 million worth of altcoins, the hacker’s address had $10.55 million worth of $ETH remaining. The trail Arkham tracked on November 4 is more interesting than the amount: tokens such as ENA, CRV, and ZRO were distributed across multiple addresses and sold, then ETH was consolidated at an address starting with 0x4691. Organizing the assets before cashing out is nothing new.
The same monitoring report also noted another transaction: about $650,000 in assets was converted via Bridgers into $BTC through a cross-chain swap. Arkham said the transaction appears to have been intercepted. The amount isn’t large, but with this leg of the cross-chain route blocked, the attacker’s path is no longer clear sailing.
Entities Arkham identified as involved still hold about $31.23 million in assets. Two things to watch next: whether the consolidated ETH will be split into smaller amounts and transferred out across multiple addresses, and whether there will be any activity involving mixers.
