🚨 SOUTH KOREA SET TO DELAY CRYPTO TAX UNTIL 2029!

A major policy shift could give South Korean crypto investors some breathing room! The ruling Democratic Party, led by Kim Min-seok, has formally proposed postponing the crypto tax scheduled for January 2027, which could mark the fourth delay.
Under the current plan, annual crypto gains exceeding 2.5 million won would be subject to a 22% tax, including local taxes. The party wants to establish the Digital Asset Basic Act and improve tax reporting systems before the tax takes effect.
If approved, this could reduce short-term tax uncertainty for investors and give South Korea’s crypto industry more time to prepare. However, the delay is not yet final and still requires approval from the government and legislature.
Do you think South Korea should delay crypto taxation until 2029 or start taxing investors in 2027?
