Withdrawals are finally moving again. I’ll come clean first: for the past few days, I’ve been checking the withdrawal page every hour, until I started questioning my sanity.
On one hand, there’s some relief: Binance said withdrawals for the second batch started reopening gradually at 04:00 UTC on November 3. Major assets like BSC and ETH are on the list, deposits have continued uninterrupted, and Binance says it will cover the stolen funds itself rather than pass the loss on to users. By October 31, it had recovered 98% of the funds.
On the other hand, people are still angry: they said withdrawals would reopen gradually, but when it comes to their coin, it’s still stuck spinning. The queue goes on forever, and with $6.34 billion affected and only $2.85 billion frozen, who wouldn’t be worried about the rest?
Where I stand: reopening withdrawals is good news, and for now I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt that they’ll fully restore them. But until the funds actually arrive, I’m not going to sing their praises. Once trust is lost, earning it back takes real deposits arriving, time and again.
