【The urge to trade is real, and so is the fear of missing out】
I’ve been watching NEAR for a while, and what unsettles me most isn’t the drop—it’s that it can still bounce afterward. It’s up 4.8% in 24 hours, yet still down 15.7% for the week. The Fear & Greed Index is at 34. Back in 2017, I would’ve taken a rebound as the answer. Now I’ll only admit that it looks like some money is stepping in—but I don’t know how long it can keep doing that.
What really made me pause was the issuance side. After the proposal passed, by its own estimate, 11.8 million fewer NEAR tokens could enter circulation over the next two years, worth around $45 million at current prices. The amount of tokens burned will fall by 7%. In practice, that means supply could tighten a little, easing dilution pressure on long-term holders, while also affecting ecosystem participants who rely on emission rewards.
Does the business logic hold up? A contraction in supply doesn’t mean demand is growing. It improves the supply-demand picture on paper, but it can’t replace real usage, fees, or activity. What’s missing is growth, not stories.
Trading volume has surged unusually, and the price is consolidating between support at 3.63 and resistance at 4.01. Is this a recovery from panic, or a changing of hands ahead of a directional move? I’m not sure either. I can talk a good game, but when I look back, I still get that itch to trade. Are you watching the changes in issuance, or are you willing to catch this move?
