France’s National Assembly rejected two proposed crypto “exit taxes.”
One proposal sought to fold crypto assets into the existing exit tax; it failed, with 27 votes in favor and 55 against. Another would tax unrealized gains for people moving out of France whose household crypto holdings exceed €800,000 and who meet the residency-duration requirements; it failed by 31 to 60. A vote on the revenue section of the 2027 budget was also postponed, with 758 amendments still remaining and the first-reading deadline set for midnight on November 17.
Proposals on declaring self-custodied holdings and exempting small payments from tax are still pending. The measure passed on October 16 to tax crypto-to-stablecoin conversions has not yet become law either. Europe is still slowly working through the question of the tax base. #法国 #CryptoTax
